Dixon’s Delight

(Strathspey, 1×80, square)

Devised to mark the occasion of Dixon Halliday’s 90th birthday.

1-8       Circle 8 hands round and back

9-16     1st& 3rd couples dance Rights and Lefts

17-24   2nd & 4th couple dance Rights and Lefts

25-32   1st & 3rd couple turn partners with the right hand and, Man leading, dance to the right, passing through side couples and returning to place.

33-40   2nd & 4th couple turn partners with the left hand and, Lady leading, dance to the left, passing through side couples and returning to place.

41-48   All four ladies dance Right Hands Across, than all four men dance Left Hands Across

49-56    1st & 3rd couples dance Ladies’ Chain

57-64     2nd & 4th couples dance Man’s Chain

65-72     All face partners for Grand Chain

73-80     All take promenade hold and dance once round, finishing with ladies back to back in the centre, wait for the chord and honour partner.
